Hi there - I'm Julie from New Zealand
I am a rescuer of dolls, and a collector.
I think I am in my second childhood.
I wish I could sew and knit well, as most of my dolls are also dressed in second hand clothes and swaps from other great dolly people.
I really enjoy a challenge, so I love to find a dirty doll with bad hair as I get a real thrill at the end of the beauty treatment.
I love Galoob Baby Face dolls,
Dolls who 'do' something - like Ideal Giggles or Saucy.
Jointed and Bent Knee dolls
Hard plastic 1950's dolls
I still have two of my childhood dolls from the 50's
I have a complete collection of all the Baby Face dolls by Galoob.
Please contact me at
juliethorne@yahoo.com if you have any of these for sale as I'm always ready for more! Last count was about 75!!
I am happy to own 17 Galoob
'Cuddle on Delivery' dolls; and one
Doggy Bag Doggie (very rare)great little brothers, sisters and a pet for my Baby Face collection.
Here is my very special and very rare
Baby Face Denny who came to me all the way from France. A real bargain and a large dose of good luck!

He has the sideparted hair, boy shoes and is a different coloured vinyl with darker hair, eyebrows, lips and tongue than Dee Dee. He's wearing his original clothes and the elastic in his pants has been repaired by me! In the second photo, he is at home in New Zealand. Denny is dressed in his casual clothes and is reaching out for a cuddle Denny's outfit and hat are made by Joan in Australia - thanks Joan!
AA Sarah is first photo below. A really lucky find in an auction of other dolls in New Zealand. She hardly cost me anything!!
Here is Suzie with her new hair colour. What a cutie! I had fun doing this. What do you think of my great view? Suzie is wearing another of Joan's designs. Sherry is modelling a dress and hat made by Jeanne in America and sent to me by Sharrie as a swap
I am overwhelmed by a lot of very kind, caring dolly friends and their generosity.

ANOTHER FAVOURITE
This is my
Butterball isn't she a darling! She came to me from Dian at Dollmammasden in the USA. I love her expression and her chubby, squeezy arms and legs!! Made by American Character.

and here is my darling little Steiff bear, rescued from an Op Shop for a few cents.

!
I also have a soft spot for these darling
FIRST LOVE dolls who seem to stare at me from bins of old dolls in thrift shops! I have about 8 at last count, including both of my daughter's ones. They, like the Galoob Baby Face dolls, are very poseable and have startling big blue eyes. Some have longer hair and others have a pacifier and bottle and an open mouth. They were made by Marx and by Pedigree.

The first little darling below with the cute smile is
GIGGLES, made by IDEAL in 1967.
I have two of these, one giggles loudly after having her voicebox repaired with a condom!
Sadly the other doesn't as I had to repair her with two wine corks and a kebab stick in order for her head to stay on!

Aww - look at this face on the right ! Exactly the opposite of Giggles.
She is
'Little Miss No Name' with her large teardrop and her hand stretched out.
She is definitely one of my favourites but all my friends think she's ugly. My heart goes out to her.
Here is just one corner of my dolly collection.
